Just a few of my travel pictures
After finally getting our South American Trip posted (Thanks very much Audrey) it is time to post my Photo Club shots from this past year. Starting with the winter of 2018. The pictures below include a trip to Joseph Leduc’s basement to do a wonderful workshop on flash lighting techniques and a trip to the Wellington waterfront to check out the ice. I also have images from the “sweet light” and “Items with a Twist” challenges.
I will begin this post with an apology for my tardiness. This fall, photo club outings included a stroll through Picton on remembrance day, a night shoot at Point Petre and a visit to Legacy Antiques in Cobourg. The theme for the falls photo challenge was “fall colours”. We will be heading to South America soon so more photos to come!
This past summer I made it out to a number of the local photo club outings which included a trip to Jones Falls and Spindle Tree. Themes for this summer also included awakening and summer fun. Check out the group shot at the end.
Audrey and I headed to the local rodeo this past month. Great entertainment for little cost. Here are some of my pictures from the event.
For my birthday, Audrey and I headed to Frontenac Park, which is just north of Kingston. Although the weather was warm and sunny the trail was very wet due to the large amounts of spring rainfalls. We took the Little Salmon Lake trail.
This past week the birds have been migrating up the county and through our place. With three feeders around the pond the birds have been getting their fill, (as well as the squirrels).
This months outing with the local photo club included a trip to Port Hope to witness this years “Take your Fanny down the Ganny” (www.floatyourfanny.ca/). This was the 36th annual event, and it looks like one that Derek and I need to attempt one year. After the event we headed to Cobourg for some photos. I have not been to Cobourg since attending an art show of my Aunt Jen’s work some 30 years ago?
This months outings with the local photo club included a trip to Frink center (just north of Belleville). Themes for this month outing was shadows and silhouettes.
During the later part of January we were treated to a display of flight training by a large group of bald eagles. They stayed around our property for about a couple of weeks, (as Hay bay slowly froze over). Most of the pictures were taken at dusk one evening, when a group of 18-20 eagles flew overhead of our home. I took most of this pictures through my living room window. The pictures are grainy due to the fact that I had to push the ISO in the camera. They have to been Photoshoped other that tonal corrections. It really was an amazing display.
This month five members of the PEC photoclub were given the task to digitally process each others images. For this challenge I submitted a photo I took back in 2013 on a trip to the Czech Republic. I have included both the original “raw” image as well as the fixed B&W one. The other photos were taken my members of the photo club but have been fixed by my hands. I used DXO Image Pro, Lightroom, Google Nik Collection and Photoshop to manipulate the photos.
